The Toronto Patriots are pleased to announce the signing of Gabriel Schmidt, a defenceman from Maple, Ontario, for the 2025-26 OJHL season.
Schmidt, who played last season with the Markham Waxers U18 AAA, brings a steady, composed game to the Patriots’ blue line. Known for his ability to move the puck smartly under pressure, Schmidt also features a hard, low shot from the point and uses his size effectively to defend and close gaps.
He was selected 190th overall in the 10th round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection by the Kingston Frontenacs.
